The previous 11 posts, beginning with the one dated 5/26/15, is the start of a truly amazing study. As I bounce this off of others I highly respect for the sincerity and depth of their Christian faith, I have yet to find one that understood this before, or has sought to deny or improve upon it. This study is to put a thesis to the test. The idea is to read through the New Testament to determine whether the thesis holds up, or is thrown down. Which way will it go?
I contend that there are 10 Essential Elements of The Real New Testament Message. They naturally fall under these 10 words or phrases, 1.) Righteousness, 2.) Sin, 3.) Judgment, 4.) Savior, 5.) Gospel, 6.) Repent, 7.) Believe, 8.) New Birth, 9.) New Life, and 10.) Kingdom. How can we know this? By reading through the New Testament with our eyes prayerfully wide open so as to let God speak to us through His Word to either confirm or deny this concept or teaching.
If this is correct, the benefits can be enormous! It can anchor your soul in the very certainty of faith. It can help to make you a far more effective witness for Jesus Christ and the Gospel, that others might be saved. Are you interested? I really want to do this!
Read Matthew Chapter 1. In it, we see in verse 19, that Joseph was a righteous man. Why? What is that about? Matthew, a Jew, writing primarily to a Jewish readership, employs a very typical Jewish expression in regards to Joseph. It meant that Joseph believed on the Lord, and sought to demonstrate and practice his faith by means of carefully following the Commandments and the Law of Moses. Very innocuously, we are already being conditioned to understand that what is right and proper and required of the Lord is this matter of righteousness, or the very first of The 10 Essential Elements of The Real New Testament Message.
It was said of Joseph, the father of Jesus, that he was a righteous man, in the Word of God. Obviously that is a very important matter. Could the same be said of you? It’s what the Book is all about!
