Is the New Testament the Word of God? Most people think that the New Testament is no better, or any different, than any other book written by men. What do you think?
Let me ask you: Could you pick a subject, any subject… find 9 individuals that might be considered as acknowledged experts on that one subject, and ask them to ponder and write what they consider to be the 10 most important matters or issues around their subject? And, further, if they perceive there to be any order to those 10 matters… if they would relate them in the order they think they might follow?
Having selected a topic, and 9 experts on that topic, each having written what they think are the 10 essential elements that revolve around their topic, and in whatever order they believe those elements might proceed; what do you suppose the odds are that they would completely agree? You know the answer. It’s zero, isn’t it? No nine experts on any one subject could possibly write of what they think are the 10 most important issues around their subject, and in their progressive order or connection one to another, come to any congruence or agreement… It’s simply not humanly possible! You know that to be true.
That’s the New Testament. There were 9 writers of the 27 books of the New Testament. Their message consists of 10 essential elements. Each element has its place within the message of the New Testament. The order is, itself, essential. Confuse the order in which they land, and the message is lost! The 9 men who wrote the books of the New Testament; depict 10 essential elements, and these are placed in a consistent and logical order that lays out for us The Real Message of The New Testament.
Knowing that mere men cannot do this, that it is humanly impossible; you can know that you are dealing with the supernatural. And, since it claims to be the Word of God, and the message is about God… you can know that you are reading the very Word of God. Are you willing to believe? It claims to be the Word of God. And, it demonstrates that it is to those who are sincerely seeking. The New Testament shows itself to be supernatural, in such a way that no one man, or any conspiracy of men, could have ever devised. It also doesn’t hurt that what is recorded there is largely first-hand, eye-witness accounts, too! Which is why Jesus told His disciples they would be His witnesses. It’s what the Book is all about!
Next: How can you know that the Old Testament is also the Word of God. If anything, it is even more amazing than the evidence for the New Testament!
