The Best Way to Read the Bible

If you are serious, there’s one best way to read the Bible, so as to let God truly ‘speak’ to you thru it. There are 2 keys that unlock the Bible to the serious reader who truly wants to know. The first is: Know the End from the Beginning, and the other is… See the Bible From the Top Down.

First, Know the End from the Beginning. The Bible is so unlike any other book, that unlike a delicious murder mystery, it actually is very important that you know the end of the story, before you even commence to read it from the beginning. In other words, go to the very back of the Bible, to the last book, the Revelation, and go to the very back of that last book, chapters 21 and 22. Read them first! What is there? What is it about? That will be the subject of my next post. We’ll start first at the back, and learn, so as to Know the End from the Beginning. I’ll also explain why when we do that next time. This is critically important!

Second, See the Bible from the Top Down. Also, unlike any other book, there is no better way to understand why there are so many pages, and it spans so many years, unless you know why all of that was recorded in the very first place. The answer to the one question why is because while you are reading, you actually are doing so with a sense of expectancy and anticipation, you can ‘see’ the Hand of God at work thru the story, working out His own ends during each phase or stage of it. It is, in a very literal sense, a case of where history, becomes His-story! Like overlooking an entire parade in its route, from a blimp; we want to know the different phases or stages of the story, and note how they transition from one to the next. This entirely opens the story up to our understanding of God’s plan there.

After we have read, so as to Know the End from the Beginning, we will then derive one very brief and quick overview, without the specifics, until we find them in the text, so that we will also See the Bible from the Top Down, and then read with that expectancy and anticipation that will cause us to so handily and easily see the ‘Hand of God’ at work, sovereignly bringing about His will… so, as to validate that what you are examining is, beyond any question or shadow of doubt, the true Word of the One, Real and Self-Existing God. The Bible really is the Word of God, and any true seeker can know this for a fact, if they know of the one best way to read the Bible. It’s what the Book is all about!
