How Do You Eat an Elephant?

Tuesday, October 31, 2017. I have returned from a 12-day trip to Asia; specifically a third-world developing country. I can be no more specific than that. I was invited to bring the very teaching I have been presenting right here since November 21, 2013, as you can see in the right hand archive column.

The church is exploding in this nation. So much so, that the govt. has banned evangelism to stop the spread of this religion. The problem there is that so many are coming to faith in Christ, and so many new churches are forming there, and so many men are taking up the call to pastor in these churches, but… these men have little to no opportunity whatsoever to receive any kind of training for their ministries, and they are crying out for help.

In comes an American missionary, who “happens” to meet a national pastor in a leading city, who just happens to be traveling regularly throughout his country to find native village church pastors to offer them his help to train them. It was a coincidence, you know. This missionary begins to partner with this national pastor, in order to bring resources to bear, so as to assist this pastor in bringing training to these native village pastors… and things explode! They discover a strategy whereby they are able to bring groups of these pastors together for training. They all get to meet one another, to encourage and build-up one another, and… they receive training from this national leader who has already planted his own church there, as well as to have planted, from out of his church, 27 new “daughter” churches, all in recent years.

This is where I was brought in. I am that “Big Picture” guy. I was asked to train these men in how to open up all the Bible unto their understanding by means of the employment of The 5 Tools I was ‘given’ and have been employing right here on this blog site for nearly 4 years now. The 5 Tools are to 1.) Read the Bible Chronologically, 2.) Know the End from the very Beginning, 3.) Know the 7-Point Outline of the Story thru 12 Time Periods, 4.) Know the 10 Essential Elements of the Real New Testament Message, and 5.) Know the 15 Most Important Teachings, so as to find all the supporting verses that explain them.

As I had opportunity to train these pastors to employ these 5 tools, you could see, by the time the week had ended, that they were all “getting it,” down to the very last man! And, they all committed to going back and to begin to employ these 5 tools in their own personal, inductive, Bible reading and study, so as to have all the Bible opened up and illuminated unto them by the Holy Spirit, to the benefit and expansion of their own ministry to their people.

So, how do you eat and elephant? The answer is: One bite at a time; as I will further explain next. It’s what the Book is all about!
